DAY 1 – ARUSHA – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast in Arusha, you’ll depart from Arusha for a two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Along the way, you’ll see Masai villages and the iconic open plains of Africa.

Once in Tarangire, you’ll enjoy a wildlife drive through golden grasslands surrounding the Tarangire River. You might spot elephants, zebras, and antelopes. Keep an eye out for lions, leopards, and other animals too.

After your adventure, you’ll return to your accommodation for the night.

DAY 2 – TARANGIRE – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Remember that depending on the time of year and where the Wildebeest Migration is happening, your accommodation and exact location within the Serengeti National Park might change slightly. We’ll start the day with an early breakfast because we have an exciting day of exploring!

We’ll kick off the day with a scenic drive to the Serengeti. On the way, we’ll pass through the misty rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you might see cape buffalo, baboons, or even elephants and leopards in the dense undergrowth.

The gates of Serengeti Park are approximately four hours away, and you can split the drive with optional activities.

Olduvai Gorge Museum: This museum, also known as the Cradle of Mankind, showcases some of the oldest evidence of human habitation. You’ll see some of the oldest fossil evidence of human habitation and learn about the journey.

Maasai boma visit: Experience traditional Maasai dance, tour an authentic village, and shop for souvenirs at the local market.

Both of these activities require an additional cost. Please talk to your safari expert if you want to add them to your itinerary.

After enjoying a delicious lunch at the Serengeti National Park picnic area, it’s time to explore the iconic savannah landscape of the Serengeti itself, where you’ll be amazed by the multitude of animals roaming the grassy plains.

Based on the standard and type of accommodation you’ve chosen from our options, we’ll have dinner and spend the night in the heart of the Serengeti National Park.

DAY 3 – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Take advantage of the chance to experience a thrilling sunrise game drive in the Serengeti. Witness the majestic predators in action as they hunt for their morning meal against the stunning backdrop of the savannah. Alternatively, elevate your adventure with a magical sunrise hot air balloon safari and enjoy a champagne breakfast. Speak to your safari expert about adding this extraordinary experience to your itinerary. After your morning adventure, return to your lodge for a leisurely breakfast and prepare for an exciting day. Your driver will tailor the route to maximize your chances of encountering the diverse wildlife of the Serengeti.

DAY 4 – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK – NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA

After having breakfast, we head back to Ngorongoro Crater National Park. On the way, we pass through the Serengeti using a different route, which gives us more chances to see the animals we missed on day two. We’ll see countless animals in herds, including wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, gazelles, elephants, and predators like cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and lions. We’ll have dinner and stay overnight on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater or nearby Karatu Town, depending on the type of accommodation chosen.

DAY 5 – NGORONGORO CRATER – ARUSHA

After having breakfast, you’ll head to Ngorongoro Crater, which some people think is one of the most amazing places in the world. You’ll understand why it’s so famous when you first see this vast, green crater from the panoramic viewpoint.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is home to over 120 kinds of mammals, including the well-known Big Five. It’s one of the most popular places in the world for safaris. It’s a great spot to see the endangered black rhinoceros munching on grass and many hippos enjoying the water.

From the comfort of your open-top vehicle, you can watch and photograph some of Africa’s most famous animals. The crater has many predators, like lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, and hyenas. There are also lots of wildebeest, zebras, antelope, cape buffalo, and more. It’s one of the best places in Africa for safaris.

After an exciting day, you’ll have a picnic lunch by the park’s famous hippo pool. Then, you’ll drive back to Arusha.
