Over four days, travelers can visit three of the northern circuit’s most prominent parks: Tarangire, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and Serengeti National Park. This adventure guarantees exceptional game drives, allowing one to observe Africa’s diverse wildlife in their natural habitats.
DAY ONE – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, you’ll depart from Arusha for a two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Along the way, you’ll pass Masai villages and the open plains of Africa.
You’ll start your game drive across the savannah around the Tarangire River in Tarangire. The river provides vital water for the region’s animals year-round. You may spot elephants, zebras, and antelopes.
You’ll have a picnic lunch by the river, but watch out for the local monkeys! During the drive, you may see lions, leopards, cape buffalo, various antelopes, and endangered animals like the Greater Kudu or the Fringe-Eared Oryx.
After an adventurous day, you can look forward to a comfortable evening at your chosen accommodation, ensuring a relaxing and rejuvenating experience for the next day’s exploration.
DAY TWO – LAKE MANYARA/TARANGIRE – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
We will have an early breakfast and then head out for a day of exploration and adventure. We’ll start with a scenic drive towards the Serengeti, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey to the Serengeti Park gates takes nearly four hours. You can break up the drive by visiting the Oldupai Gorge Museum or a Maasai boma. Both activities come with an additional cost. After lunch at the Serengeti National Park picnic area, we’ll explore the Serengeti and observe the wildlife. Based on the chosen accommodation, we will have dinner and stay overnight in the heart of the Serengeti National Park.
DAY THREE – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK – NGORONGORO
After breakfast, we head back to Ngorongoro Crater National Park via a different route through the Serengeti. This provides ample opportunities to spot various animals, including wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, gazelles, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and lions. Based on the chosen accommodation option, we will have dinner and stay overnight on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater or nearby Karatu Town.
DAY FOUR – NGORONGORO CRATER – ARUSHA
After breakfast, we’ll head to Ngorongoro Crater, the Eighth Wonder of the World. The area is home to various animals, including the famous Big Five. It’s a popular spot for safari lovers, offering a great chance to see black rhinos and hippos in their natural habitat.
We’ll explore the crater in an open-top vehicle, allowing us to see some of Africa’s most famous wildlife. There are many predators, such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as plenty of wildebeests, zebras, and other animals. It’s one of Africa’s top safari destinations.
After an exciting day, we’ll have a picnic lunch by the hippo pool in the park before heading back to Arusha.
